I eat about a cup of it and I've been mixing in about a tablespoon of raw honey, which is supposed to have all kinds of happy things in it for your digestive system. I figure after the years of gluten-abuse, my digestive system needs all the help it can get. Between the cultures in the yogurt and the benefits of whatever is in the honey - I'm still not clear on how it's helpful, but it's delicious, I figure this is a good treat!

Plain yogurt is tasty?
Well, it can be good with a few add-ins. In my ever widening search for a before-bed snack that's GF, not too high calorie, somewhat healthy, satisfying and tasty, I've been eating plain Stonyfield Organic Low-Fat Yogurt and putting stuff in it.

Gluten Free Cookie Bar by Arico is quite tasty
_0.jpg)
At our local North Texas Gluten Intolerance Group, I was given a sample of Arico Natural Foods Company's Almond Cranberry Gluten Free Cookie Bar. There were so many other treats at the time it took me a while to get to it. However, I finally ate it last night and boy was I glad. It has almost a biscotti-like texture. I would consider it moderately healthy - it has some fiber, some protein and not a ridiculous amount of carbs. More importantly, it was quite filling and kept me going though a weight training workout. Also, it's only 140 calories - which for many GF bars that size, you'd expect closer to 200 calories. I will definitely be trying to find this on local shelves. For now, it's available online for sure.

Getting twiggy with it: New gluten-free snack hits the spot
Mary's Gone Crackers, notable for their whole-grain, gluten-free snack crackers in a variety of flavors has introduced a new product called Sticks & Twigs. The flavor and texture of the sticks and twigs is, well, stick-like. However, don't let that dissuade you. If you are a fan of the crackers, you'll definitely enjoy this very portable version with fun new flavors like curry and sea salt. Some of the Sticks & Twigs are also soy free, for those of you with an allergy to soy.
I offered them to several friends who enjoy eating healthfully or have food allergies and we all enjoyed them. However, I have yet to make it through a whole snack bag. After a handful, I'm stuffed.
The sticks and twigs are also listed as kosher, vegan-friendly, heart healthy, whole grain.
